Film shots sometimes become poetic and magical if the setting is one of the most evocative places on the Italian coast, a stone’s throw from Rome.

Especially if once again simplicity and naturalness are key to these shots, thanks to the Italian model and muse Matilde Giannetti and the photographs by Matteo Papacchioli.

At the foot of Mount Circeo, near “Torre Paola”, a 16th-century watchtower built by will of Pope Pius IV at the west end of the Circeo promontory. The name of the mount is uncertain: it has naturally been connected with the legend of Circe.

«… Ecco, ed all’isola Eèa giungemmo, ove Circe abitava, Circe dai riccioli belli, la diva possente canora, ch’era sorella d’Eèta, signore di mente feroce.» (Odissea, Canto X, vv. 135-13)
